Spencer was a forward known for his exceptional goal-scoring ability, agility, and skill on the ball. He spent a significant part of his career at Peñarol in Uruguay, where he became a legend, winning multiple Uruguayan championships and earning the title of top scorer in the Copa Libertadores. Spencer holds the record for the most goals scored in the history of the Copa Libertadores. He also represented the Ecuador national team, earning several caps and playing in the 1962 FIFA World Cup. Tragically, Spencer passed away on November 3, 2006, but he remains an enduring icon in Ecuadorian football history.
