Aaron Harang is a former professional baseball player who was born on May 9, 1978, in San Diego, California. He played as a right-handed starting pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for several teams, including the Oakland Athletics, Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, and the New York Mets. Harang was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the sixth round of the 1999 MLB Draft and made his MLB debut with the Reds in 2003. Known for his durability and solid strikeout ability, he had a notable season in 2006 when he recorded 16 wins and 8 losses with a 3.76 ERA for the Reds. Over his career, Harang accumulated more than 1,400 strikeouts and had a total of 124 wins. He retired from professional baseball after the 2016 season.
