Deborah Roberts is an American television journalist who is currently a senior national correspondent for ABC News. She was born on September 20, 1960, in Perm, West Virginia. Roberts graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism in 1982. She began her television career at a local station in Atlanta and later moved to NBC News, where she worked as a general assignment reporter. In 1995, she joined ABC News and has covered numerous major national and international stories, including the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the September 11 attacks. Roberts has received several awards for her journalism, including an Emmy Award. She is also well-known for her work on editions of '20/20' and has contributed to various special reports and documentaries. Deborah Roberts is married to fellow journalist Al Roker, and they have one daughter together.
